We aim to follow in the footsteps of other international furry conventions by delivering a similar experience.
The primary reason is to pattern ourselves to international furry convention standards. Secondary is cost—SMX in particular is prohibitively expensive at this stage. Choosing such a venue would require significantly increasing ticket prices, which we want to avoid.
We are currently coordinating with our partners for official food vendor announcements. That said, the hotel offers both a café and a buffet on-site, there are nearby malls offering additional dining options and food delivery services such as Grab and Food Panda available.
For this year, we have secured three main rooms within this year's hotel premises for the convention:
Mahogany A: 409 sqm
Mahogany B: 205.69 sqm
Grand Mahogany (A + B): 614.69 sqm
Aspen (Dealers Den): 214.18 sqm
Rosewood (Fursuit Lounge): 76.61 sqm
Please note that Grand Mahogany can be divided with a movable partition to accommodate multiple events.
During PhiliFUR’s press conference, it was revealed that the event consistently operated at a loss over its three-year run, leaving one of their members in personal debt to keep the convention going. Because of this financial strain, not all staff were compensated.
With this in mind, we have made it a priority to allocate our budget responsibly—ensuring not only that our artists are compensated, but also that we can cover the costs of this year’s event.
Please understand that our expenses include but are not limited to venue rental, merchandise production, staff compensation, manpower, promotional materials, and registration logistics.
This decision is due to logistical constraints. Offering merchandise to on-site ticket buyers risks overproduction, which could severely impact our budget and sustainability.
Yes, Day 1 tickets will be available onsite. Pricing details will be announced soon.
This year’s PVC badge will serve as your scannable entry pass. It identifies your ticket tier and whether you're a registered Boother/Dealer/Seller/Merchant in the Dealers Den.
During registration, we’ll use our in-house technology to ensure a smoother, more efficient check-in process. A detailed guide on badge usage and procedures will be released later.
No, Barkada FurFest is not a rebrand of PhiliFUR. While it is true that some former members of PhiliFUR are currently involved with Barkada FurFest, the two are entirely separate brands. They operate under different intellectual properties, have different staff members, and are managed independently.
